Carlene 12 Posted December 25, 2006 Carlene -- Have a happy birthday even though it's the day before Christmas. I always felt sorry for Christmas babies. But then, a birthday just makes for more presents. If you want, you can use my birthday, July 26. No holidays are in sight then. Thank you, BOH. Everyone asks me if it isn't the pits to have a Christmas birthday, but since I know nothing else, it really doesn't bother me. People are singing and the whole world is lit up like no other time of the year. I'll admit, a July birthday might be nice, though. You could go swimming or have a birthday picnic. I always felt a little guilty, though I don't know why, since I had nothing to do with my own conception and/or gestation, but because my mom was in the hospital, my brother had to spend Christmas with the neighbors the year I was born. ready2bthin 2 Posted December 25, 2006 Carlene: Happy Belated birthday!! It's now Christmas day...so have a wonderful Christmas, too!! I always think that Christmas babies are special cuz they share a special birthday with Jesus!! Haven't been able to make it to Arlington lately for the dinners, but all is going fine with me. I'm down around 43 lbs. now. Been stalled some due to eating goodies, so I must get back on the wagon!! I hope to go to the next bandster dinner or maybe the Plano lunch to meet some of the dfw bandsters I haven't met, along with Heather who've I read posts from India and her mom. They sound like a lot of fun. Anyway, hope to see you soon and hope you enjoyed your birthday!!
Carlene 12 Posted December 25, 2006 Thanks, Mary. The DFW Bandsters met last Thursday, as usual, and as always we had a good time. They also had a holiday dinner, which we had planned to attend but then something came up and we didn't make it. Once the holiday crazies are over I hope to get back on track, too. I have made enough Cookies and fudge and Peanut Butter fudge in the last couple of weeks to put the entire state of Texas into sugar shock. See you soon..... *susan* 1,709 Posted December 26, 2006 Hi Carlene, I hope you have a wonderful birthday. My daughter turned 14 today. I remember, years ago when we were going to my brother's house for Christmas. His wife called and told us his best friend Mike was in town and that his birthday is on Christmas. So, she got a cake and we all made sure to get him a birthday gift in addition to a Christmas present. I will never forget his reaction when we came out of the kitchen with his cake and gifts. Here he was, a 35 year old man and he just broke down and cried like a baby. He said he had never, in his entire life, had a birthday present, birthday cake or a birthday party. His parents always told him he was born on Christmas and that was enough. Believe me, when my daughter blessed us with her arrival on Christmas I remembered that day. We always make sure she gets a party with her friends the week before. Then, we do Christmas in the morning. In the evening. the Christmas decorations come down out of one room and the birthday decorations go up and we have her cakes and gift. I never want her to feel like she has missed out by being born on Christmas. Actually, she thinks it is very wonderful to be born on Christmas and that it makes her very unique and special. I have to agree with her.

I have to agree with her. Susan... You are a good mom. My mother did the same thing. She wouldn't even wrap my BD gifts in Christmas paper, although it would have been much easier. And my BD cake/BD party NEVER had a Christmas theme unless I wanted it to. But I always thought my mom should have named me something seasonal, like "Holly" or "Noel". My daughter was born June 21 (first day of summer) and I wanted to name her "Summer" but I got out voted...LOL
