bdo2309 44 Posted June 9, 2013 Today has been very difficult for me. I just really want some real food. I get full from broth, but I just really want something solid. I hope this gets easier.
johnlatte 1,232 Posted June 9, 2013 It will get easier. You want to chew something. I crushed a bunch of ice and ate that. It seemed to satisfy the need to chew. It only lasts for a few days. 2 No game and bdo2309 reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted June 9, 2013 It does.. How far out are you? I know the liquid diet after surgery is in my book the hardest! The pre op liquid diet was easier to me. I think because I wanted the "comfort" from food.< /p> We put ourselves in this major painful and stressful situation and our comfort was ripped away too! Just know that this stage is hard but it's for a very good reason. It's not a "diet" to lose weight it is so the staple line on your stomach can heal problem free. Hang in there 3 johnlatte, bdo2309 and RAAinNH reacted to this
bdo2309 44 Posted June 9, 2013 I was sleeved June 3. Thanks for the encouragement! I know it's more mental than actual hunger. I can have broth and will be full. I think I just miss solid foods. Lol. Down 19 pounds since Monday 2 No game and raymz55 reacted to this
conemjo 3 Posted June 9, 2013 I was sleeved 5/14 and I'm back on puree b/c my tummy didn't like softs when I tried them this past week. I went to my son's baseball tourney all day yesterday(my first all day outing since surgery) and I was sitting around all the parents eating snack shack foods..soft pretzels, bbq, burgers & hot dogs, nachos...it was tough, but I stayed focused on my son and the game and I made it through. 2 RAAinNH and sleeveb430 reacted to this
tigerbelle 328 Posted June 9, 2013 bdo, it will get better when you can move up to soft or pureed foods...I had a difficult time with the post-op liquid diet...I was getting so sick of broth
Flup 48 Posted June 9, 2013 I was also sleeved 6/3 and I am SO tired of liquids. This too shall pass...right? :/
ready2inspire 19 Posted June 9, 2013 I was also sleeved 6/3 and I am SO tired of liquids. This too shall pass...right? :/ I was sleeved on 6/3. I can't say that I'm craving any foods. I haven't had anything but Water and Isopure. Even though the Isopure has 40g of Protein per bottle, it takes me 3 days to finish one. I've lost 12lbs post-op. Haven't had much pain but definitely low on energy.
