My surgery date was March 21, 2012....I have lost a total of 160 pounds!!! I just want to let everyone know don't get discouraged...this is the best thing I ever chose to do. It's hard at first but stay committed and make this a life style change. I love my sleeve.

Thank you Chandi. You have done an amazing job. Do you have any advice for us freshly sleeved people? In particular, so many people on hear are worried about stalls or slow weight loss. I am constantly reading that people are worried they are doing something wrong and won't be able to lose their weight. I would love your input.

Wow, that's great! Congratulations on your wonderful success! So it took you about 15 months to lose that, right? That's exactly how much I had to lose, and I'm a little more than half way there. So good to see someone accomplish that goal - helps me remember it CAN, and has been done! Thanks for sharing.

It can be done. Sorry it took me so long to respond. It has been about 15 months. I went through stalls and there was some months I would only lose a couple of pounds. Don't get discouraged, it's just your body catching up with the big changes we are putting it through. I watched everything I put in my mouth...and worked out. At this point I have 9 pounds left to lose and it's the hardest 9 pounds yet. I've been trying to get it off for about 2 months now but my body has stalled. I'm doing the insanity videos and they are very useful with toning, and hopefully dropping my last 9 pounds. Thank you guys for your words of encouragement!! Just remember you can do it and you will feel great at the end! Don't give up!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
