I have not seen the NUT yet to know this. Why can you not drink while eating

It has been answered a bunch of times and I'm sure you can search for it, but here is the short version.

1. It washes the food out of your stomach faster and you will get hungry again sooner, and take in more calories.

2. With your smaller stomach partially full of Water, you won't be able to fit in enough Protein and nutrients during your meal, which will set you up for nutrition deficiencies and make you feel hungrier again sooner.

It will give your body a chance to absorb the Proteins and nutrients so it don't get washed away.... That's basically what I was told

This is such a controversial topic. Some surgeons believe it makes no difference at all, while others think it washes the food through the sleeve or causes fullness too quickly. I honestly think in the realm of VSG, this particular subject requires a lot more research before we get a definitive answer.

It makes me nauseous. If I drink too soon after eating I feel very sick to my stomach. Gagging and whatnot.

This is the first I've heard this! Have you read or heard anywhere about it being ok? This is the one thing I thought all doctors pretty much agreed on.

I agree...of all the controversial topics, this seemed to be one of the few that had little dissension (basically how soon BEFORE eating you were supposed to stop)

Yes it would be nice to at least keep the drinking during meal thing a consistent no...

You know that reminds me of my auntie. She has always been very skinny and very concerned about her and her children's weight she doesn't like fat people much..(the boys always looked under weight to me :()

But as her children were growing up she had a rule at the dinner table NO drinking with meals.

Makes me wonder..

I was told by my nutritionist that drinking while eating will stretch your stomach that's why it's forbidden
