coatham 0 Posted December 24, 2006 Hi Everyone, I was banded on Dec 22nd, by Dr. Fox at Auburn Regional Medical Center in Washington State. Today, I have some pain on my left side were the port is but, other than that I'm feeling pretty good. I'm glad that there is a great support group out here and looking forward to being part of it. Maurdan 2 Posted December 24, 2006 Welcome! My port incision is the one I'm most concerned about, but it's getting better each day. I'm also feeling a lot better each day. This site is a blessing, too!!!

futurebeauty 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Charlene-I was banded 12/12 and my port still is tender with pressure or stretching but it doesn't hurt other than that(not even with sneezing) so it will definitly get better.
Debbie M 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Hi I was banded on 12/15 and progressing very well. I didn't have to do the liquid's before surgery, but for 2 weeks after. I had to graduate to the soft diet because I was about to starve. Especially hard for xmas. I am looking forward to my first fill and hope that it will help the appetite. So far I have lost 15 lbs. kjojojr 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Where did u get banded? I didn't have to do the pre op liqued diet either. That would seem like the hardest part! I was pretty hungry at your point too. The cream Soups really helped me. Just remember you can't eat the same portion size you used to before surgery. If you overeat it is very painful. Good luck and Happy New Year , most importantly Happy New Life!!
Debbie M 0 Posted December 27, 2006 I had my surgery in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Brad Ray did it. He is currently doing construction on his own clinic that should be done sometime this summer. He is strictly going to be a lap-band surgeon only. I feel real lucky to not have to travel like it seems so many other's do to have there adjustments. Your right, even though I'm hungry, I have noticed it takes less to fill me up. :clap2:
kjojojr 0 Posted December 27, 2006 When i got my first fill the doc said it's like a primer fill . He said I won't feel much restriction until 2nd or even 3rd fill. It is a slow progression, I'm so impatient to get this weight off. I guess we have to look at it ......It took awhile to put all the excess weight on , so slowly it will come off. :heh:
coatham 0 Posted December 29, 2006 Hi All, Today, is the first day I have felt really good. I have my one week post-op appt tomorrow so, things are moving a long smoothly. I just wish I could eat something more than liquids. I have been reading and it seems that ever doctor has his own idea when to start foods. Does anyone have any great liquid ideas? Thanks for all your support.
