Who can eat everything?

Recommended Posts

I'm glad u said that about the sleeve restricting u bc that's one of my fears...ive read so much here n there about people regaining but this is a tool of restriction, so how can a person regain if they literally are forced not too? Do I need to do more research, bc I'd hate going threw this thinking that this tool will not help me, if I make a wrong choice...I hope I'm making sense:/ I have the surgery seminar in the morning, guess I can ask the surgeon then. Was just curious since u guys are dealing w it now. Thx:)

The sleeve will restrict the amount you can eat at a meal but if you choose to graze throughout the day or incorporate calorie dense foods, the calories can add up very quickly. For example if you eat your lunch at noon and then wait an hour and eat a 400 calorie dessert... then wait an hour and down a 280 calorie pack of corn chips, then wait an hour and stop off and get an 850 calorie chocolate McCafe shake from McDonald's... Then wait an hour and eat your dinner.. then graze on a snack as you watch TV..... Well you can easily see how it's possible for the calories to really add up and for all your weight to be gained back.

The good news is that the sleeve does help restrict how much you can eat at a sitting.. so if you in a moment of weakness decide to eat a high calorie food, you're not going to do too much damage because there's only so much you can fit.... but if you do it continually that's where you're going to run into problems.

I tried everything except bread since I'm wheat intolerant. I tried fried chicken' date=' rice Pasta, rice, candy, tortilla chips.. Course I don't eat these things regularly, I just wanted to give everything a try when I was going through my reintroduction phases. Yeah, nothing I can't eat! Pretty much have a sleeve of steel![/quote']

Ditto!

I can. The only thing that does not taste right is Pasta. fruit like oranges, apples dont sit well. Otherwise, so far so good, no problems with food, esp crap food. Be careful!!

Three years out next month and I still do not like to eat rice or Pasta - sometimes I can eat a few bites and other times I feel overfull and sick after just one bite. I also avoid soft tortillas - same issue - I cannot eat more than one bite or so and they make me feel sick. And I still can't eat large quantities of iceberg lettuce, though other greens and types of lettuce are just fine.

I can eat anything else, though, just not that much of it.
