I started my journey at 254 and being only 5ft1 that's a lot of weight to carry I'm now 195 so I'm getting close to my goal of 150. I've noticed the closer I get to goal the more depress I am and mad at myself that I let my weight stop me from living the life I deserved I'm at a shitty job that I hate because I thought I couldn't do any better, I let my hair and apperance go to hello, I dress like a bum, picked real bad relationship and just let people walk over me. Fast forward to now here I am 41 years old and now that I'm losing weight I want better I want a better job, I want to fix myself up I just want to be a better me and to be honest I don't know how, I don't know where to start and its sad that I've been single not even dating due to my weight I didn't want to get close to any man because I stopped believing that there where men that actually liked fat woman and for all of you who have been taken advantage of because your fat and desperate for love you all know what I'm talking about. So I'm going to start by getting to 150 pounds get a complete makeover and read Dr. Phill book LIFE CODE and go back to school probably not in that order but its something I got to do can't waste another yeyear

My mother had a great number of helpful motivators she always stated to us when needed. You want to accomplish a lot for all the lost time and that is definitely worth pursuing. But life does happen in steps or when opportunities present themselves. SO....My mom would say, "Just DO The Next Indicated Thing, And If You Don't Know What That Is, It Will Be Indicated To You". Oh Yeah! she might also state "Happiness can be found in the journey and not just the destination. I hope you don't spend time on losses long but start moving towards your new desires.

Best wishes to you.

You have already started. You are repairing yourself.

You are already new inside, it is just a matter of time before the outside catches up. I say that because you see what you've done wrong and are mad about it. You have divorced yourself from your former behavior. Now you need to make a clean break and forgive yourself and move on. Leave the old you behind, you are too busy to kick your own butt over the past, you have a new life to make happen.

As time goes on you will learn to love yourself more and more. You will enjoy being in your skin. Your self respect will draw respect from others. Your air of confidence will draw admiration. You will be less needy but more wanted. You deserve it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
