hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to this site but I hope to be able to learn some things and make positive connection here. I am on day two of being off of pureed foods and my wounds are healing well. I am being super neglectful of everything I choose to eat because I don't want any post surgical issues.

I'm excited to have lost 18.5 lbs. And look forward to getting to my goal weight!

Jazer

Congrats on your 18.5 pounds. I am almost 5 weeks post revision and have been on pureed now soft since 14 days. My Dr. is less stingent on the diet than most. I have been very careful eating only softer foods and watching my portions. YOu will do great!

I have found at Walmart a canned meat, they have turkey, pork, beef, and corned beef hash. I bought it mixed in creamed Soup for gravy and took my portion and pureed it in my blender. The rest of my family ate it over mashed potatoes.

Another option that I have tried is the hormel meals that you microwave in 4 mins (in the deli meat section of the grocery store) it already has broth or gravy in it and cheap and quick...cook and pureed...yummy!

I havent tried any beef since everyone I have talked to has a prob with it. how far out are you? most of the people in the support group that I attend many years out still cant handle red meat.

Lean ground beef like chili or ground beef doesn't seem to cause any issues with me. I am 5 weeks out tomorrow. Can't eat much of it but it works.

I'm 3 months out and eat red meat like patties, tri-tip and steak. It goes down fine for me but I have noticed a stall in my weight. I was sleeved on the 23rd of July and have lost 45 but I think it would be more if I ate healthier. I must say I love red meat so I know it will be hard.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
