tazboobecky 0 Posted December 24, 2006 my dr called me yesterday and said i was vomiting, wait he didnt want to call it vomiting he said spitting up mucas, whatever my stomach would totally disagree, was due to swelling and that i had to stay on hot liquids for 2 days if it didnt get any better it was back in the hospital. well i just tried my first cold drink in 48 hrs and by god it stayed down you would have thought i won the lottery the way i was acting. i guess what upset me was they were all about call us for anything we mean anything that you have concerns about, well i call once and i feel that vomiting is a good reason and he acted as if i was just wasting his time. now i feel like if anything eles comes up i will hesitate to call again. so be forewarned my dear lapbanders you all will probably be my sounding boards from now on lol. as of today i am down 14 lbs from monday the 18th. i still stare at the scale like its lying to me, that it will one day go ha ha just kidding you still weigh 224lbs. i guess no matter what difficulties i go though this surgery will always be a blessing. drcollier 0 Posted December 24, 2006 I have found this group to be a very friendly bunch, and the veteran lapbanders are the best. So I say all that to say, you will have very good "sounding boards" here.
mypov 0 Posted December 24, 2006 You (or your insurance) paid good money for this surgery and you should get all the support you need. If the doctor sounded rude, mb he was just having a busy/stressful/bad day and it had nothing to do with you. Don't take it personally or keep that from getting all the care and support you need and deserve. Of course, this board is great for any questions you may have but the advice of your doctor is most important. So if you are concerned. CALL. Good luck to you! i hope you are feeling better soon! phlyinphebee 0 Posted December 26, 2006 I know that I will be turning to this list often over the next few weeks. I will start on the 2nd my no fat diet and then Protein shakes, soft and liquid foods on the 12th for my sx on the 19th. That is the part that will be hard for me but knowing that I might see some pre sx weight loss makes it easier. everyone keep up the good work!!! juliegeraci 7 Posted December 26, 2006 Hi Taz, good luck with the swelling. This is the most difficult part of the surgery.
