I will not be doing puréed, YUCK!!!! I was on clear liquids the 24 prior to surgery and while in the hospital. I was discharged to full liquids. Not to be a nag, but you need to follow your surgeons instructions. If he said pureed for 2 to 4 weeks, do it. Looks like your surgeon does things differently than mine but it doesn't matter. If you need ideas for pureed food, there's probably threads here at VST with ideas. Good luck to you!
Mom2Twins 11 Posted June 8, 2013 The thought of puréed chicken, turkey, or any kind of meat makes me want to puke! There is no way I can do it!!

When I think of puréed chicken, I'm thinking a chicken salad except that the pieces are smaller. Or some sort of chicken or cream of chicken Soup with smaller pieces of chicken. I'm sure you could do something similar with turkey. pureed beef is just going to be just finger pieces of ground beef that you could put in a chili. Okay I tried! I'm hoping someone will pop in here and chime in with ideas. It might be in the morning until that happens tho.

Megs81 41 Posted June 9, 2013 The thought of puréed chicken' date=' turkey, or any kind of meat makes me want to puke! There is no way I can do it!![/quote'] I put the meat in a small food chopper and would add a bit of gravy. It was pretty good. Also look up the thread for ricotta bake. It's in the pureed stage and really yummy

I will not be doing puréed, YUCK!!!! Puree is not as gross as you think. It doesn't have to be pureed meat, get creative and think outside the box. You could have soft scrambled egg with cheese, just mash with a fork FF Plain Greek yogurt with unsweetened cocoa powder or extracts and sweetener, lime juice and sweetener, etc.... chicken salad made in a food processor, with some extra mayo or greek yogurt for moistness. Ricotta cheese-seasoned as if for stuffed shells, top with sauce. Here is a link to some recipes, that I STILL eat, just because I enjoy them!! http://ormcbariatric.wordpress.com/ (January post and August 22nd) There is also this site http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/30539-awesome-tuna-fish-sandwich-soup-recipe/page__hl__protein__fromsearch__1 http://www.murfsurg.com/pureed_recipes.htm Hope this info helps. futureloser 190 Posted June 9, 2013 You will be so happy to get off liquids, you will eat puréed anything! I didn't think I would be able to either, but its part of the deal and it was fine. 1 TheRealMeIsHere! reacted to this
