I wanted to punch her in her naturally skinny face!

People who have always been thin truly don't understand. My mom's highest weight' date=' 9 months pregnant was 117. She can be insensitive at times, but she truly doesn't understand. Just ignore that woman. Or, you could buy her that book by Judge Judy, "Beauty Fades. Dumb is Forever.";)[/quote']

IM GETTING THAT BOOK ASAP,

Ignorance comes from uneducation. A non-WLS person will never understand what we go through. Keep you're head up, this decision is for YOU.

I bet if you shaved your beard, you would be just as skinny as her.

Ever think of that?

I would say to her: you cannot judge someone's situation unless you've been it. She has never been fat, never had the diet you grew up on, food addiction, stressors, contributory mental & health problems, faced the negative social situations we've all been in, etc. Try to understand that the majority of people are (ie Facebook b***h/neighbor) uneducated & lack empathy. At least fat people take the time to develop likeable personalities. I think that criticism from others is a huge factor in weight gain & trouble losing.

Stay strong!!!

then slash her tires& steal her husband.

I've been totally upfront at work about my surgery and today one of my coworkers was being just...super insensitive....she's one of those people that weighs about 90 pounds soaking wet and she can't believe "how crazy someone would have to be to have surgery to lose weight"...I just wanted to punch her!!! But I didn't...I just calmly explained to her that my decisions have been made with a very sound mind...b***h.

She's also one of those people who has a super high pitched voice that I freaking hate...everytime she talks it's like nails on a chalkboard.

Ok rant over!

I haven't told a lot of folks for that same reason. We all know our limits, I hit mine and decided another diet was not it. I needed help and my surgery will be just the help I need.

I saw a bumper sticker that I love. "Jesus loves you. Everyone else thinks you're an *******." Sorry if that's rude. Made me laugh.

well what I think (because I know everyone is just biting their nails waiting for my opinion lol jk) is that we as a group should take all the insensitive tan skinny people stuff them in a closet and force feed them twinkies. hahhahaha that is the best revenge. people shouldn't talk about things they don't know. walk a sweaty, short breathed, exhausted mile in our shoes and see how u feel!! grrrrr. (ive run into some of that lately as well)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
