Running jump onto a moving train!

Recommended Posts

That's what I feel like happened today! I had my initial consult with the surgeon and I am scheduled for all of my post-op/insurance requirements already. I should have all paperwork submitted to insurance by the end of June! I also got some great news, so good, in fact, I started crying when the finance lady told me: Dr. Scarborough isn't going to charge the me the $5000 bariatric co-pay required by my insurance-- he is only charging $1800!!! I couldn't believe it. Those of you who read my posts in the previous weeks know I was really worried about the cost. I just can't believe it! I am so blessed and fortunate!

My husband also went with me today and he has decided to under-go WLS as well. He feels the Duedenal Switch is the best option for him, but that procedure scares me! Any advice about this?

Interesting article on the switch.

Dr. Hess was metioned in the article. He didn't do my operation but he was, (now retired), one of the doctors at Bowling Green, Ohio, Wood County Hospital, a Center of Excellence, and the first to do the procedure. I got my sleeve there from Dr. Peter Lalor.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
