Recommended Posts

A meal from a restaurant usually lasts me for three meals.

I brought home plenty of leftovers!!! :-)

My husband and son love going out with me. They know I'm bringing food home that they'll end up getting. They're my Lil doggies. :D

My fam will no doubt enjoy the added bonus of more leftovers too!

And I ate lettuce on my soft taco with no issues. I'm thinking of trying a small salad now.

I was released to puréed foods on Thursday and my anniversary was Friday. My husband came to work and took me to lunch, so we went for Mexican because I knew I could get some refried Beans. The waiter didn't seem to be concerned that all I ordered was a side of refried beans and sour cream, but when he came to clear the plates ans saw thatI had only ate a really, really small portion I thought he was going to freak out....and I am with you Ms. Antiband to think back at what I used to eat in a sitting...My little sleeve would explode!

Amanda.. Tortilla chips (probably all chips) are a slider for me, too! Evil lil' buggers!

Tortilla chips went down effortlessly. As do the Special K cracker chips. I stopped buying them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
