I wonder what they make the guys do? *gasp* pant less....

Seriously, this stress test was not on our plan. I feel like we are missing out on the fun.

Off topic, but LauraVen, I love your thread on addiction. I wouldn't say it there bc there are too many posters and I'm a wimp, but the vast majority of the ones who say they aren't addicted are, in my opinion, full of s&!t.

Thanks to all. This day is ending better than it started:)

Ah yes, the braless, shirtless run on the treadmill. Been there and done that one too. My echo tech was a very handsome young man (think young George Clooney). He was very professional as he maneuvered around my sweaty, floppy boobs to get a good picture of my pounding heart. Oh Lord, I was totally mortified! But you gotta laugh about it, it's so ridiculous! Hopefully you'll get your insurance clearance soon. I definitely think men should have to take this test in the biff! Thanks for the laugh everybody!

Chelenka, I'm so happy to have a sympathizer. Misery lives company:). Why can't they ever use women or hundred year old, ugly men for the really embarrassing tests? It ALWAYS has to be a young hottie. Oh. Did you have to hold your breath too? I loved that. Each time they let me breath again, I made a wheezing gasp, like an end stage lung disease patient. Nice.

You just wait until a "young hottie" (think Angelina Jolie in my case) puts a catheter in you while you are awake, not once, but twice. True story. :) This experience of echo test may be quickly forgotten once you get the pleasure of waiting for time to pass while the catheter is navigated...

Fiddleman' date=' catheter trumps echo for sure. It sounds horrible. Is that a little known complication of the sleeve?:).[/quote']

Yes, for me it was. I had serious issues with drinking and peeing for about 5 days after surgery. Pretty minor now in the grand scheme of things, but it was a minor complication at the time. Almost everyone does a catheter after surgery, probably because of the pain medicine and not the sleeve directly. Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones and wake up with one instead of getting one while awake.

I think catheters were invented for interrogating spies. :o

I was cathed for my hysterectomy (where I could walk) but not for my knee surgery (where I couldn't. Had to use a bed pan. Yuck). Wasn't cathed for my sleeve because they expected me to be up and walking before I needed to pee. And this was the case.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
