Hi everyone. I'm new here. I was sleeved on Tuesday 6/4/13. I was up and walking after surgery and then started on fluids the day after. I'm home now and I'm able to take a one ounce every 5 minutes. I'm paranoid about not getting fluids in and becoming dehydrated. I'm also able to eat Jello and Popsicles at a slow pace with no problem. Protein takes a little while. I was able to get 8oz (30g protein) of a shake in yesterday also. I'm worried that my stomach is yelling at me to bring it on! Is this too much too soon? Maybe my stomach isn't as small as I'd hoped it would be :(

We had surgery the same day. Are you really tired all the time? I am. Also I am able to sip a lot. I'm not worried about it.

Right now I'm just really missing eating food. :(

You will be able to drink more and more each day. In the next few days you will be able to drink a lot more liquids and you might begin think that you are messing up or that your tummy is bigger than it should be. Dont worry, once you start eating solids, all that will stop. You will begin to feel restriction then. Just go ahead and concentrate on getting in what you can and following your drs instructions.

You are heading in a good direction! Just relax and do what the dr says and you will be fine!

Thinking good thoughts for you!

1 oz every 5 min for fluids is great. And 30 g Protein a few days post-op is also good. You will make progress.

Don't forget, you just had major surgery! You are REALLY swollen right now and it will take weeks (up to 6 months, in fact) to FULLY heal your new stomach.

Patience. You're doing well. Try not to obsess. If it feels okay, you're not over-doing it. Just follow your post-op instructions. You won't feel real restriction in your stomach until you're at full solids (6 weeks + usually). Believe me, THEN you will know your stomach is tiny.

:)

If you're missing the feeling of chewing, try chewing on ice chips.

By all means take in as much as you safely can. Still be sure to take in measured small amounts and time it, so that your tummy won't retaliate later (remember you may be partially numb and not able to feel yourself overdoing it).

Actually, I haven't been tired. It's actually been kind of opposite. I'm sore but I have tons if energy. I think having two kids under three factors in to that though.

Thank you! I was just feeling very discouraged that I wouldn't feel the restriction that everyone has been talking about. Or that I wouldn't be in tune with my body enough to feel it. It's only been a few days, I need to be patient :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
