PGee 318 Posted June 7, 2013 Went to the pre-op class last night at the hospital....its feeling a little more real.,....still have 3 more weeks of appointments to finish up. Mostly that class was a review of what I've learned through online/books......but there were a few specific questions pertaining to me that they were able to answer. I started this process April 9th by going to an informational session................and the time has just flown.........When I made my reservation for last night's class, it seemed sooooo far away... Hubby & I had a heart to heart talk last week and discussed pros/cons of WLS---after our discussion, I finally stopped making myself crazy over WLS....I was making myself absolutely nuts until laying everything out.....can't remember who suggested doing a list of pros/cons, but thank you! [although after the class, I think hubby is getting cold feet about this whole thing....he nearly passed out in class]
PGee 318 Posted June 7, 2013 And something I found interesting about the pre-op diet.....we all know it's to shrink that liver since they surgeons will be working underneath.....however, the PA last night said it's also to see if patients will follow the diet......because they find the people who follow the pre-op diet are more successful after having WLS....thought that was interesting, hadn't heard that before. Enjoy your day!
