Sydney Susan 333 Posted June 7, 2013 I was still on soups/purees/thicker liquids... Till w4 actually. Soft foods week 5 and 6. I think my Dr is very conservative but I've had a dream run so far - I'm always a little ahead of what dr tells me I can do (just a couple if days), so never pressured to try foods. If in doubt just go through your food stages slower. You are probably just a bit more swollen than others - doesn't mean it won't all come right very soon. Good luck. 1 Momonanomo reacted to this
Susieqrt 2 Posted June 7, 2013 I am 1 week post op. Dr told me 1 week liquids and 2 weeks food like apple sauce and yogurt. Nothing u actually have to chew at all. Then we would determine if I was ready for solids/food to be chewed. Hope this helps. I am new to this site. But would recommend u contact ur dr's office they should have given u a diet to follow. Good luck !
Macy6 356 Posted June 7, 2013 I know all Surgeons are different but maybe fish was just too soon? Even if it was on the OK list with your surgeon maybe just too soon for you. My list is 2 weeks liquid, 10 weeks fork soft foods (If I can't squish thru to the plate with a fork it is a no go) Maybe try softer items for a week or so and try again down the road? Good Luck

paper1875 5 Posted June 7, 2013 For me fish was one of the easiest things to get down in the beginning. It could be that you ate too fast or too much. I'm almost 3 months out and still eat way to fast. For me eating slower has been one of the hardest parts of this experience.
