not really...my surgeon told me not to soak for a long time in the bath until my incisions healed, but I am taking showers anyway, which he said are fine since the beginning...I never asked him about swimming but fellow sleevers here on the forum have said they have been advised not to swim until their incisions totally heal--which most say takes about 4 weeks...I am about a month out, and one of my incisions (the largest one) still is definitely not totally healed

Yes i was told the same... no baths no swimming. I took a shower a day everyday. I did try swimming at 6 weeks and it was rough and i all i did was float and doggie paddle.

speaking of swimming, (slightly off topic), I don't float half as well as I used too! It should have been a no brainer, but I nearly choked myself as I flailed about in the pool during my first dip this year. I used to be able to float from my mid chest upward in a 'standing' position in my pool, now I have to paddle to barely get my shoulders above Water in the same position! I would call it an NSV, but dang, I really used to like the way I could float so well! Lol, the dang sacrifices we must endure! ;)

Thanks... I am just kind of disappointed because my surgery is July 1 that means no more pool days for me... :(

That is a great story!!! It's funny how the smallest thing can be something you miss!!! I am going to miss the pool for the rest of the summer!! My Chickas and I go to the pool and float around on our floats together!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
