thebearishere 1 Posted June 7, 2013 Hello. I was wondering if anyone out there is experiencing the same things as I am. I am four days post op. I have a fever of 100.9. I haven't been able to drink or eat anything. My stomach hurts to much and the sight of food makes me sick. I get dry heaves and lose stools. Do you think I could have an infection in my stomach? I'm waiting to it reaches 101. I managed with the dry heaves and loose stool to drink one Protein Shake today. Thank you so much

thebearishere 1 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm trying to. I know I'm not getting the recommended oz. that the docs require. I was even put on anti-nausea meds today to help. I feel like what goes in, will come out in 5 mins.
liteNsun 58 Posted June 7, 2013 Normal body temp can goes as high as 99.1 F. Also, wait ten mins after any eating or drinking fluids to get a reading. But continued increase of temp. is when you need to read aftercare instructions you may have gotten and call doc then see what he recommends. He may give you a quick remedy or reassurance. MystiGal 143 Posted June 7, 2013 If you aren't getting any fluids, that can cause your fever to hold on. My dr said not to worry unless the fever is over 101. Try to get some fluids in and keep an eye on your temp. If it keeps climbing, call your surgeon's office 1 DonRodolfo reacted to this
anniemay 150 Posted June 7, 2013 Call the doctor immediately. Any fever over 100 do soon after surgery is a pretty sure sign of infection. Font wait
BooKoo 32 Posted June 7, 2013 On day four I started running a 102 fever ... I thought I might have an infection but it turned out I got dehydrated. Sounds like that's what u got going on. U might need to make trip to the ER to get an IV to get some Fluid in you.
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted June 7, 2013 Don't worry about getting anything in except Water at this point. Hydration is first and foremost the most important.
