Nsv Day

First of all I confess...I've been nibbling. Not terrible downfalls but enough to keep me on this plateau. So anyway the scale has gone way under the bed and is staying there 'til New Year. I don't intend this holiday to be a disaster but neither am I going to worry about it.

Back to my theme...On Tuesday some new clothes I had ordered arrived and I confess when I put them on I was disappointed. The trousers were UK 28 (from a 32) and only semi elasticated but because they fit 'properly', all I saw was my belly- as usual. I had also bought a bustier and it was OK but didnt make me feel as 'sexy' as I'd hoped.

THEN>>>

Wednesday I went shopping to cheer myself up. Now I'm fitter I love shopping and poor hubby cringes each time I say I'm off out!nod.gif

I got my stepson to drop me off at the bottom of our long hill and NSV 1, I walked up it. I haven't done that ever before. I felt generally tired at the top but not in a state of collapse and if there had been more to do I know I could have continued.

Part way up the hill I was looking in a window and I saw someone wanted to pass. The pavement is narrow and so I moved right to one side...nothing! I looked behind me and there was no-one there. The legs I'd seen in the window were mine...legs I'd seen as skinny, normal legs were mine in my jeans. NSV 2.

I decided to buy a shawl to cover up my shoulders and arms in the bustier. I went into a shop that sells these things and saw this gorgeous, cute woollen bollero- one size fits all. HA! It's always been one size fits- all except me. I looked at it on the hanger and mentally assessed it...then I bought it. Got it home and it not only fits beautifully, it looks good and now when I wear the top I feel very sexy indeed. NSV 3.

Once I can lose some weight off my lower belly/hip area then I know I'm going to be a clothes addict. And so yes, I haven't been as good as I should have been but I'm going to enjoy this holiday without going beserk and then I'm going to make this 100lbs 150 and then 175...role on 2007 and more NSV's.

Happy Holidays Everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It's an interesting story about seeing your legs in the reflection and not realizing they were yours. That's the kind of experience that lets you know something is really changing. Congratulations. I'm happy for you (but a little worried for your husband, if you see what I mean).

I'm sorry... I've seen the term "NSV" used several times lately, and I kinda get the gist of what it might mean, but what exactly is it? (A good thing either way, so congratulations on it! :))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
