Should I change what I'm doing? Maybe I need to relax.

Sleeved on 04/29. I am very unhappy because in the last 3 weeks I have only lost 4 lbs. I track calories and never go over 700 per day, all from lean protien and vegtables. Sometimes I have a yasso frozen greek yogurt for a treat but never more than one per day. I usually get all the Water in, and have been increasing my workouts to 5 per week. Love C25K! Whats up? How can I work so hard at this and the scale is not moving. A friend of mine was sleeved 02/14 and has already lost 70 lbs, she was about the same size I was starting. She does not exercise, count calories, or even worry about how much protien she gets in. She has 2 protien shakes (12g protien ea) per day and eats a small dinner. Her Dr. never emphasized the protien as much as mine. Maybe I should just relax and not try to stay so on top of it and trust the sleeve will do the job.

Yes. Relax. You are doing everything right. You will go through periods when nothing comes off the scale. During these times, lots of people lose inches. I have only lost about 4 pounds in the last month. Our bodies just needs time to catch up. The weight will come off. It has no choice. :-) Easy to say, hard to believe when you are doing everything right.

Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. :-)

I went through the same thing. I was 262 on my surgery day (02/11/13) and the past couple of months, the weight has just been disappearing so fast.

1-2 pounds a week is the norm. There's just some lucky folks out there that lose more and make it look so simple.

You can actually gain weight when increasing your workouts because there is more blood plasma flowing...or this is what I was told. If I take a break and then start working out again intensely I gain about 3 pounds which comes off within the next few days. Don't get disheartened (I know its easy to do when those not working as hard lose more weight quicker because I saw the same things). I got real frustrated, but you know 4 months later and down almost 75 pounds feels good. It feels so slow when it is one or two pounds there, but time goes by quickly.

It will come off!!! Just hang in there and keep doing all the right things.

If you are working out a lot you probably need to add more calories and carbs.

It's just a stall. It will go down. Some people stall for a few days, some stall for a few weeks.

Thanks for all the words of encouragment. I decided last night I was going to stop worrying, and continue to do what my NUT and physician instructed. At least when I loose it all I will be lean and muscular from all the exercise. I keep reminding myself I am making life changes not just trying to drop fast.

Exactly - it is very hard not to compare ourselves to others. Stick with your plan and you will do great.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
