Double Chocolate/Black Cherry Protein Pops

Recommended Posts

Last night I made these up. I had one for a snack earlier today, and it was delicious. This is a great way to get some Protein in, especially if you have a hard time tolerating shakes. I'm going to experiment a little with the recipe and change up the flavor of Protein powder and yogurt to see what other flavor combinations work well together. Dannon Light and Fit yogurt would knock about 8 calories off per pop, too. I was just out of that brand when I made these.

Double Chocolate/Black Cherry Protein Pops

In a blender, combine the following

-2 scoops of chocolate Protein Powder (I used what I had on hand, the Walgreens brand)

-1 6oz container of Greek yogurt with fruit (I used Great Value's Greek yogurt with black cherry)

-8 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

After blending, pour into popsicle molds. Freeze and enjoy.

This recipe filled five molds for me. Here is the nutritional information for each pop:

Sodium 83

The black cherry and chocolate go really well together.

could even put the tiniest drop of almond extract in the mix, and then it would be like Blackforest cake!

Mmm. That sounds great. I could also do a vanilla powder, blueberry yogurt, and a little lemon extract. I think I'd like those flavors together.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
