tummy tuck before children

Recommended Posts

So I just had surgery so I am no where near the point of needing plastics right now...however my insurance (under my mom is allowed until I'm 26) is very good insurance. ..it paid for my entire VSG and will pay for a Tummy Tuck and breast augmentation if needed after surgery and weight loss. Most insurances pay for some if any of plastics. I was just curious if anyone did a tummy tuck before having kids? Ive seen many people have kids then work back to their original size (and by original I mean pre kids at goal weight)

I did not but I'm sure there are people out there that had a Tummy Tuck pre kids (pure cosmetic or wls). If I had been in this situation pre-kids I would have no issues getting the tummy tuck and then still having a family when that time comes.

I was watching doctor 90210 and one of the surgeons Dr. Li had a formerly obese young patient and the doctor recommended removing the excess skin now but NOT tightening the underlying muscle until after childbearing.

I had 2 kids, then did a Tummy Tuck after losing the pregnancy weight gain and I had a great looking stomach, with stretch marks gone and even a four pack. I then had two more pregnancies over the next few years and my stomach went flat again and it was a great result to see the tummy tuck held up so great. No added stretch marks for me and no pouch. The four pack went away but the rebound was awesome.

Hope that help, Good luck.

M.

Having kid after a tummy is possible, but it could possibly mess up your results. The tummy tuck cuts away excess skin and they also tighten your stomach muscles. I had a tummy tuck about 6 years ago and I have a 10 year old son. The doctor really wanted me to wait to have a tummy tuck since I was only 24. However, I knew that I didn't want anymore children. I did the surgery and since then I had put on 70 lbs. LOL. My stomach was no longer flat after 70 lbs, but 6 years later my stomach muscles are still super tight. Now that I'm losing weight I see my stomach going down. I believe I will get my original tummy tuck results back! In fact I know I will. My body is bouncing back.

Sorry, I'm typing so much. Live in the moment and get your tummy tuck! You will love the results. I couldn't believe how amazing I looked after my tummy tuck. Get it while your insurance will pay, because its super expensive.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
