Teachamy 1,042 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi everyone~ I have been wondering about excess skin after weight loss. I am planning to lose 70 pounds in all. My mom tells me, "you are young, it won't be that bad." My responses to her are: #1--I am 39--doesn't skin start to sag at that age? and #2--You haven't seen me naked lately! LOL. I have a lot of abdominal fat. I know this is different for everyone, but did you start to see a need for Excess skin removal after a 70 pound loss? Many thanks! Amy PS--My "Eating for life" classes start next week, then a visit with the dietician, THEN I get to meet my surgeon! I am on my way!
Ima Loser 197 Posted June 5, 2013 I have lost a little over 70lbs I have extra skin. I am 27. I have noticed as I work out this is toning up a bit. I have a little bit more that I'd like to lose then I will give it about 6 months to a year to see what shape my skin is in before I decide on plastics. 1 honeylove reacted to this

LifetimeLoser 208 Posted June 5, 2013 I think it depends on your age, genetics, how many times you've lost weight before, and basically where you carry your fat. I have lost weight quite a few times, carry much of my fat in my arms, am 32, and I have lost 74 pounds with another 100 pounds to go. I know I will have excess skin in certain areas no matter what. It does tighten a little, but it won't completely. Plastics are in my future. 1 sixbuttons reacted to this
Teachamy 1,042 Posted June 6, 2013 Fab--You look great! Junior, this is the heaviest I've ever been. I've lost 25 pounds in the past to achieve a normal BMI, but now I am at a 35 with co-morbidities, and I see this surgery as a tool to help me get healthy again! 70 pounds is the most I envision losing, and as great as "Fab" looks, I am concerned I will need the "panni" to get the excess skin off my belly. I guess time will tell. I am excited though!

happy1957 138 Posted June 9, 2013 Good day...I am 56, have lost 65 lbs, but had lost 30-50 lbs at least ten times in my adult life. I have abdominal sagging that bothers me more than anything along with my under the chin swag. It's been about 5 months since I hit goal and I do work out. I think for the most part I am happy with my buttocks, and legs, and even my arms are getting there. I will always have upper inner thigh puckering and a small amount on my inner arms very close to the armpit, it's a combination of stretch marks and a little sag. but would love to have a Tummy Tuck and neck lift. I am much older than you, my suggestion is work out and tone. It does help. I wish they had invented the sleeve 25 years ago. SIGH. In general, I think I am in better shape than a lot of women my age. Clothes are a good thing, no nudest colonies for me. :-) 1 FromFlabToFab reacted to this
happy1957 138 Posted June 9, 2013 Flab to Fab , You look fabulous... keep up the good work! I don't have the physical makeup to look that good even with a million dollars worth of plastics and turning the clock back 28 years. 1 FromFlabToFab reacted to this

And it's especially bad having to wait for our heads to catch up with our weightloss. I always say I have my HS weight back but I'll never have my HS body back
