I live in a smaller town and we have a GNC, a Walmart, a shopko, and a Walgreens that carry any form of Protein powder. I'm wondering if just a large 3 lb jug of flavored or unflavored whey Protein powder will work for shakes, add to food or drinks and stuff like that? I can't really afford to spend a lot of the bulk packs of pre made shakes so I would rather make my own. Any ideas? Is there a certain ingredient I should be looking for? Thanks!!

I am extremely picky about Protein powder, if it tastes weird or has an off texture I will literally throw it back up. With that said, I order solgar or biochem brands off iherb (I think shipping is free in the US, I'm currently in Korea).

I also like to mix my Protein with my coffee in morning, just make sure the Water isn't too hot!

Hi . You can get unflavored Protein at GNC. Its 24g protein per scoop. You can use it however you want , in your own recipes. I have been hating those Protein Drinks so I make Decaf iced coffee and throw in a scoop when i need it. There is a website... the world according to egg face , she has lots of smoothie ideas. Good Luck in your journey!!! :P

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
