You lost 21 lbs in 10 days?

What is your starting weight?

You will keep losing. It may not be 3 pounds a day though. I average 1/2 pound to a pound a day ... then I stall for a few days ... then it starts back up. Your body is probably just recalibrating itself :)

Probably because your body needs to take a break from losing 3 lbs a day...? Could also be hormonal. I was clipping along during this preop dieting, losing1-3 lbs a day and then screeeetch-2 days before my period started came to a dead stop for 5 days. Now I'm back to losing again. Your body is just doing to what it needs to. :) You're doing great!

Relax. 3lbs a day is a lot, your body probably needs time to catch up. It's called a stall and it will pass. :)

I am in the same boat as you as i lost a significant amount of weight the first week (21 lbs)but only weigh once per week so I wont weigh again til thursday. I have been told you may lose a lot in the beginning because your body is adjusting and then it is a little at a time. Even though I havent weighed myself yet this week I know I'm not losing 20lbs this week...wouldn't that be nice though?

Your body got the " I'm starving" message and is going to get stingier and stingier about letting go of its fuel reserve.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
