Indigo1991 1,612 Posted June 4, 2013 If my friend tells me one more time how much weight she thinks I have lost off my face, I will scream. I have lost 25lbs since op six weeks ago and 17lbs prior to that, a grand total of three stones, with the same again to go. I am delighted. But every time we meet, she only comments on how well I am doing by referencing how thin my face is....but never mentions the fact that I am 3-4 clothes sizes smaller! I am close to shouting at her next time IT CAN'T ALL HAVE COME OFF MY FACE!!! Then she goes on about her need to lose 8lbs... maybe I should comment "if that's going to come off your face, how much are you aiming for off your body?" but I don't think she'd get the irony :-((((( Thanks for listening.... 3 Rox, ProudGrammy and Ms skinniness reacted to this
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted June 4, 2013 LOL.. You must have one of those faces that really changes with weightloss. I think we all have friends who don't think about what they're saying.. Sometimes we'll never know why people say the crap they do. Some people are honestly clueless.. And yet, some people have a motive for the gibe they send our way. I totally understand your rant. 2 Ms skinniness and ProudGrammy reacted to this
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted June 4, 2013 Thanks, was beginning to think I was being overly sensitive As a 50 something don't want my face to collapse and I am never sure if that's what she's hinting at... However, as can sometimes be the case, if I behaved like this to her, she would get really upset. Oh well, seeing her tomorrow to get a face update, lol. 3 Ms skinniness, ProudGrammy and Ms.AntiBand reacted to this
HatheryOnHerWay 603 Posted June 4, 2013 Sounds like a friend of mine going on about how much weight she's gaining during her pregnancy and how much she hates it...today I told her "It's hard to muster any sympathy when I still weigh 70 more pounds than you." I don't even have the luxury of attributing my chunkiness to a human growing inside me. 2 Indigo1991 and Ms skinniness reacted to this
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted June 4, 2013 Since I read this post I keep thinking of my friend who is not only a perfect 10 in every way.. She's nice! But she's clueless to how her remarks are taken. She was telling me she quit chewing gum because she heard it bloats your body and makes you look fat. Seriously? 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted June 4, 2013 Couldn't agree more - it's a baby not weight gain. Grrrrrr! Ha ha
