I must have hit a stall because haven't lost weight in almost a week. I'm sad because I read stories on here where people are losing weight so much faster than I am. I know everyone is different, but I can't help but feel envious.

My weight before the one week preop diet was 265. I was sleeved on 5/13, date of surgery weight 255. I was discharged 2 days later at a weight of 266. That's an 11lb gain from IV fluids...grr! ;) So here I am 3 weeks later and I weigh 242. I'm down 23 lbs from my discharge date but alot of that was IV fluids. Technically I'm only down 13lbs from date of surgery weight.

I'm getting 700-800 calories, 60-80 grams of Protein, and at least 50oz of Water a day. I'm just frustrated and venting! If you've read this far, you deserve an award! :)

I was also sleeved 5/13 and have stalled! I have lost 27 lbs since preop, 22 since surgery. I've only lost one pound in the past week! I'm staying away from the scale for awhile :)

Sleeved 5/10. Down 25 since pre-op. Definitely at the dreaded 3 week stall! Taking in about 400-600 calories, getting about 60 grams of Protein, walking 30 minutes almost every day. Just disappointed I guess. You want to see that scale go DOWN not stay the same day after day :(

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
