I was sleeved on May 30 and am on full liquids. I was handling everything okay until today. Today I am incredibly irritable, and tired and I'm sick of Soup, Protein shakes, Jello, pudding, and yogurt. I'm sure some of this is in my head but it's making me sad. My fiance is doing his best to be supportive but he definitely doesn't fully understand.

I am sorry for complaining...I guess I am just hoping to hear from some of you that are further along in your journey with any advice for staying positive and getting through the rough days. Thanks!

I sm not so far ahead of you. 12 weeks tomorrow.

Its ok to feel sad and you need to remember your hormones are all over the place.

Remember...this too shall pass :-)

I'm so there with you right now --- my surgery date was 5/31. Can't wait to add something, anything new to the menu!!! I spent quite a bit of time reading posts today from folks who are 2, 3, 4 + weeks out to see how they are doing and am comforted that it will get better pretty soon. This is just the toughest part --- hardest thing I've ever done. Hang in there!

I was there too- i had to do 2 weeks preop with only Protein Shakes and Jello and then it continued for 2.5 weeks after surgery- im now almost 3 weeks out and was cleared for soft food- there's definitely a light at the end of the tunnel! it'll be here before you know it. You just gotta give your new stomach some time to heal :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
