I have lost 69 lbs. used to wear 24 now I am not sure. Tops I wear an XL. Pants my legs look nice in a 14 but my stomach needs a 16-18. Any suggestions on what to do. I hate the baggy legs on the bigger pants because my legs were never this small before. I guess the gut will go eventually.

two things...maybe wearing some casual dresses or skirts...also maybe trying pants that are designed to be more like leggings or "skinny jean" type...with the larger size to accommodate your waist/tummy area, the pant legs may not be as form-fitting on you as they would be on someone with a waist size that more matched the leg size

Not sure if you are done losing, or if this size is a short-term stop along the way...but, once you have reached your "final" size, if you still have a discrepancy that makes you need a larger size to fit one part than what is needed for another, your best bet is to find a good tailor....from years of watching "What Not To Wear", I know that they say you need to buy the size that fits your widest part, but alter the rest so that the clothes for your body everywhere :-)

Elastic waisted pants or short, you can hide the elastic with a shirt. Some maternity pants/shorts have very thin elastic at the waist and might fit perfect in the legs and waist. Just some ideas to compensate. I know we want to lose weight to avoid this, but comfort is just as important. Maybe drawstring shorts would work also.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
