So, I am just over 10 months post op and down 130 lbs or so, and today was the first time I have attempted a 5k race let alone a 5k obstacle course. A year ago this was not possible, today it was a blast! Not a good picture of me (the guy in the pic) since I am tucked behind the sign but that is not what this is about.....

Great job! It must be such a feeling of freedom to be able to do something like that!

Oh, and I think it's a great picture :)

"Eazye".....congrats!! I ran the Warrior Dash this past weekend as well. Are you in NC? That mud pit at the end was brutal, but I had a blast!

No, I am in Ohio. I wish the whole thing was like the ending mud pit! The one we just ran was at a ski resort but during the summer it is an ATV harescramble track. I am guessing it was 90% up the ski hills through the woods with only a couple quick downhill sections that turned and went back into the woods to go uphill again. It was nothing but slick clay mud and rocks. I was GLAD to see the obstacles because at least you knew what you were going through then! My wife has run a few of these types of races and she said this one was far and above much tougher than any of the other ones becasue of the amount of steep hills and slick mud. If we had gone earlier in the morning it would not have been as bad but by mid afternoon, the whole course was a slick mess with large loose rocks.

Now, that said, we are doing it again in August!

Oh ok, guess they do them at several locations each weekend. Uphill.....ugh. Ours went up and down hills rather equally I think. I tried it for the first time last year and I'm hooked and will have to do it every year now. And this coming from a non-runner and someone that doesn't particularly enjoy running.....but I love the Warrior Dash! Congrats and I'm guessing you'll go again next year!

I will definitely do it again, there is another one in August that we are already signing up for!

I despise running, always have and I was athletic and in the military when I was younger (20 years ago), but this was fun! It definitely didn't feel like a 5k because it is broken up with the obstacles.... I have a torn ACL, virtually no cartilage, and arthritis all in my left knee from a sports injury (and a failed ACL repair), so doing a normal 5k on the hard pavement doesnt feel good. But, with these being off road and generally in mud, it takes a lot of the shock to the knee out of it. So much fun, and the party afterwards is a good time!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
