Does anyone feel like they are the "fatest" one in your family?

Recommended Posts

I am absolutely the largest person in my family and my husband is the largest in his. Sometimes I feel like we don't belong, though it's all in my head because they look at us and just see us. (We have both been big since very early childhood.) At my SIL house, my husband and I essentially have to take turns sitting down because they only have one chair that is not 'iffy'! (they buy everything at Ikea so it's hit and miss. Lately its all MISS!) Hopefully not for long!!

It's not that I just feel that way.. It's fact. I've always been the fattest by far....Weird thing is now that I'm losing so fast I'm afraid that I'll get thinner than my younger sister, I'll call her sister number 1. There are four of us and she was always the second smallest.. sister number 2 recently lost a lot of weight and got smaller than sister number 1 and now with me losing, I don't want my sister number 1 to be left behind. I'm only 10 pounds heavier than her now and I think it will be really uncomfortable for both of us if I got thinner than her.

I live in a different state and sister number2 says sister1 has been losing a bit lately. I just don't want to come back and be smaller than her.. I'd love for us all to get smaller together.

Has anyone gained weight before surgery? My sleeve date is the 19th of June

I am by far the fattest in my family. My dad and brother have never been overweight a day in their lives. My mom has been overweight, but probably 180 max. Her frame is a lot smaller than mine, but she's definitely not obese.

All my friends are thin, same with co-workers. I pretty much always feel (am) the fattest in the room. Can't wait for that to go away!!!

My oldest goes to a high school on the pricier side of town. Every mom spends her day at the club "playing tennis" (aka drinking martinis),"working out" with her "personal trainer" (aka getting a massage), or doing volunteer "work" (aka lunching with friends). I am the only one that does not show up at school with a perfectly even spray tan, in a tennis skirt or a the perfect yoga outfit and/or heels.

I am definitely the fat mom.

I cannot WAIT for school to start in September. My Mexican/Italian heritage is SURE to beat their tan in a can and while I still might not be their size, I have no doubt that I will be much closer. Right now they are very nice to me for the most part, but you can definitely tell they think fat is contagious.

My back to school wardrobe is going to rock!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
