ladylaura 77 Posted June 2, 2013 I'm posting on this board because everytime I post a question on the Post-op board, it never gets answered LOL So, I'm hoping someone post-op reads this and can help... I'm trying to figure out which Vitamins to take. I know I need the multi and the Calcium. Were there any others you found you needed? And are chewables okay to take in the beginning or does it have to be liquid? Thanks in advance

So the calcium needs to be citrate which is the hardest to find in chewable form unless you order online. You will also want to buy B12 sublingual tablets to take once a week. Chewable s are fine for most but make sure with your doctor. You might want to but some Fiber chews too. In the first week or so you digestion will be no fun. But as the weeks go on most everybody starts to get constipated.. It's from the high Protein diet (even the shakes) and lack of Fiber.< /p> This will likely be a problem for months. In the beginning I had to take stool softeners too on a daily basis
Healthiernewme 81 Posted June 2, 2013 I was told that either the liquids or chewable were fine. I personally take the liquid vitamins (I can share the info for it, if interested -- just PM me), but then chewables for the B12, Calcium and Omega-3s with DHA.
