Just curious will my AT&T iPhone work in Mexico or will I have to call them do something to it?

You can use your phone in Mexico but it is EXPENSIVE!! If you have free wifi at your hotel/hospital you can use that to skype. But when I went on vacation I asked about this and they gave me a number that I was not willing to pay. They can show you how to set up your phone so that you only use the wifi though. That is how I communicated with my family.

Hope that helps.

It should work fine. You can cal AT&T and have a Mexico/Canada plan for an additional 30$ and have 80 min or just pay by the min. The data will not work unless you turn data roaming on. It is also a $30 starting package. Then there's the $10 messaging plan. Wifi is easy to use and access so you many not need the data plan. Good luck

Skyping was free and easy for my husband and I. It is very expensive to use an American cell in Mexico.

I just went through this w AT&T. Get in touch w/ them. You have to add an intl plan for a month $30 for 800 min. Turn off roaming and just use wifi for email/Internet.

I downloaded a free calling app and a free texting app. Worked like a charm. Did not cost me an extra penny while I was in Mexico!

I'm in Mexico as we speak and I put my AT&T iPhone on airplane mode and I connected to wifi. I also downloaded an app called "text plus" and it gives you a number so you can text your friends without it being international. If they download it you can even call them for free. But I just use Skype for that. Also if you have an iPhone you can still text from text message ONLY if the other person has iPhone as well. You will know because on the bottom of the text message where you type it will say "iMessage" I don't recommend you use your phone from its data my dad did that in Mexico for 2 weeks and paid 800 dollars! Not worth it trust me. If you want to avoid all that try my tips.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
