My surgery is Tuesday also!!! How are you feeling? I've been losing a whole lot of sleep!

To answer your question: Yes, I believe they will most definitely weigh you. My surgeons office told me that they want to see the weight from your first visit and compare it with day of surgery weight. See how well the preop diet did for you etc etc. Every office and practice is different though!

My surgery is Monday -- conversion from band to sleeve. I would think they would definitely weigh you pre surgery, because you will have lost weight on your pre op diet. My surgeon's office weighs me every time I set foot through the door!

I didn't not get weighed at the hospital prior to surgery, but I did weigh myself at home that morning and write that number down for posterity.

I'm nervous too!!! I've been having a tough time with the preop diet being that this is the third time doing it. I had two previous surgery dates that were cancelled because my Endo wouldn't clear me. So when they set this date (the 4th) I was like 'yeah right!' And BOOM I was actually cleared with my Endo. So I had been eating lightly not knowing that it was a go this time. I've been on full liquids since Tuesday though. My doc said that would be fine since I've already lost a good amount since my first visit to now.

You are usually either weighed or asked your weight at the hospital for any surgery. This is so the anesthesiologist can calculate the right amounts of meds to give you. Nothing to do with weight loss.

Thanks ! I've been on the for 2 weeks. I'm a little upset that I only lost 7 pounds. On Thursday I weighed in at the Dr's office when I signed consent and he cleared me.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
