Don't yell at them. Read "love and respect". It's a life saver. By the way, I have a cold and when I cough really hard it burns. I'm 9 days out.

I was yelling at them to shut them up I'm the one with patience.. Today has been a bad day. Since surgery May 22ND I've had three admissions.. Today I feel weak I feel over the edge I have three kids and a husband and no one has chipped in for chores enough is enough... Respect is what I deserve in this time of healing grrr..

Sometimes we yell, oh well! (And I teach parenting classes) as long as you were not verbally abusive, sometimes that's the only time some people listen. ;-)

Did you have a hiatal hernia repaired? It might be that.

You deserve respect at all times. You are a wife and mother. I'm sorry they aren't being sensitive. :(

I really think you are fine. Like I said, I've coughed my lungs up and I get that burn bad. My doc said it's normal.

I don't think yelling would cause a leak..

At nine days out I still had lots of pain but if you get worse or develop a fever, That would be the time to call the doctor.

25 pounds in nine days ?? Girl I'd be yelling that from the roof tops :P

I don't know if that's normal... I only consume Jello yogurt and Water.I can't tolerate shakes or the chewable Vitamins

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
