megandearcos 0 Posted May 31, 2013 So I was wondering what would make a person get denied for surgery? Does the drs office keep submitting the paperwork or change the paperwork until it gets approved. Surely the patient wouldn't go thru all that time and money and not get approved. Or could that happen? I'm just curious . Any info would be appreciated
Janett 87 Posted June 1, 2013 I was denied the first time b/c the ins com said "I didn't have history of co morbidity conditions for the past 5 yrs (which I did) then I had to write a letter (it was amazing and sad lol) my surgeons office started an appeal process and received my approval 1 week later usually surgeons will appeal
megandearcos 0 Posted June 1, 2013 I don't have any comorbidities. The surgeon was actually surprised that my PCP would give a referral to see him. My BMI is a 43 tho. Ive read anything over 40 you don't have to have a comorbidity. (Hopefully that's true) surgeon just said its good that ok doing it young. (I'm 23)
