I got approved for surgery. Waiting on a few particulars before setting an actual date. Went and applied for a passport card yesterday. The person I've talked to through email is named Cindy. However, I've seen the name Lora in many related posts for Dr. Kelly. Not sure what all that means. Anyone that has used his services please any advice would be greatly appreciated. In all likelyhod I'll have it done mid July. Still a little nervouse but excited. Thank you

As I understand it, Lora is Dr. K's personal scheduler/coordinator/patient support employee. Cindy is not a name I know yet. Have you beein working with a coordinator company? I think I've read that there is one coordinator company he works with. My overall experience with Dr. Ramos Kelly, Lora and crew was excellent. I hope you have a great experience!

I am scheduled for July 9th and have been working with Lora. I think if you go directly to Dr Kelly's office you get Lora, if you go through Mexico Bariatric you'll get someone else.

I used dr Kelly August 2012. A lot has changed with workers then, but I have had zero complications with my surgery.

I've have been in contact with Lora. Looks like I will be working with her rather than the company. Thank you all for your help. Probably going to schedule for July 22nd if all goes as planned

Cindy works for Mexico Bariatric Center, a coordinating company for several companies. I have spoken with her, and she seems very nice. Lora is Dr. Kelly's personal surgical coordinator, working only for him. She is who I am working with - I prefer to work directly with the surgeons personal staff. Although she is pleasant, don't expect speedy responses to your inquiries. She has taken several days to respond to me at times. I am happy with my choice, however, and I am scheduled for surgery on Jul 15th. I can't wait! I ordered myself Protein Water drink mixes (Protidiet from Amazon) and some Unjury protein from unjury.com - got their starter pack, and extra packets of chicken Soup and unflavored protein. I am SO excited! I also bought myself a thermos, tea, and broth. :-) I wish I were having surgery tomorrow, instead!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
