Kohe 9 Posted May 31, 2013 I've heard of stalls happening during this week but its hard! I can't help but think its something I'm doing wrong. I've lost 30 lbs so far and would be so discouraged if my momentum stopped. I'm wondering how other cope with stalls? Side note: I've only cheated a couple times. I took some bites of Pasta today. (Everything went down fine) and over the weekend I had a bite of ice cream; again fine. That can't be what caused my stall? Just looking for support! Thanks! tigerbelle 328 Posted May 31, 2013 I am almost 4 weeks out and have been in a stall most of this week--after having lost 20 lbs the first two weeks post-op...I am not going to lie--it has been discouraging this week, but what has helped is reading from others here that have experienced similar stalls; they advise to just keep with the program and that the weight loss will eventually continue, and I am trusting in that...my NUT had warned me not to weigh every day for this very reason...I haven't really cheated at all--mainly because I am too scared...I haven't had any problems so far ::knock on wood:: and don't want to take any chances 1 MumtazG38 reacted to this
bradycone 94 Posted May 31, 2013 Hang in there! I am 4 weeks out, and just ended a 10 day stall, so I know how discouraging it is. Just keep the big picture in mind: You've probably spent years overwieght, maybe even decades. Not losing for a week will make very little difference in the grand scheme of things. We will probably both be skinny in just a few months, and the sacrifice now is worth it to get there! 2 PainInTheGlass and MumtazG38 reacted to this
Itsme! 98 Posted June 1, 2013 http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html Someone posted this on the post vsg page and it helps explain why we don't always lose. Bottom line you're not eating enough to maintain your weight - or gain. The weight will come off if you follow the plan. I was sleeved 5/1. I'm an everyday weigher, but more for curiosity sake. I don't let the scale frustrate me. Just yesterday I finally broke my 10+ day stall. Hang in there.
tigerbelle 328 Posted June 1, 2013 thanks for the encouragement...I am trying not to get too discouraged...it's been almost a week since I even lost a pound, though...I usually have around 500-600 calories a day, so it is hard to believe I wouldn't be losing weight, even if it were only a pound or two a week
JillianMarie73 19 Posted June 3, 2013 I'm in the same boat and SOOO Frustrated!! I keep reading 20lbs first month, 22 lbs 3 weeks... I am at 11 lbs and stalled for 8 days. I lost more on pre-op and I am getting really ticked off! Im drinking my protien, I am exercising, I am getting as much liquid as I physically can... this better be temporary and maybe one day I will look back and laugh, but today its not feeling very likely! bradycone 94 Posted June 3, 2013 My stall that hit at 2 weeks out lasted for 10 days, and that seems to be what a lot of others experienced. So hang in there! My stall finally broke last week, and now I'm back to losing about a pound a day. 1 tigerbelle reacted to this
