SC Southern Sleevers?

Beachbum, Chanvita, cindy, thanks for all of your encouragement!

When I first saw the new pic (in the red dress), I could definitely tell something was different! Sometimes it is harder to see it tho. Isn't that funny?

I'm 5'2" and have lost 57# since my initial consult, 37# since surgery 8 weeks ago. I'm trying real hard to maximize my golden 6 months and at 2 or 3 weeks out I joined a gym. Have been doing Zumba 3x/week. I have now been incorporating weights into my workout. Having energy to move is such an amazing feeling!!

So far, I've gone from a 2x top to Large. Size 20 pant and dress to size 14. SA-WEET!!

It's terrible tho. I've become addicted to losing weight! I want more off now!!! lol!! Don't worry, I'm not doing anything crazy!

I did, however, have to miss my 6 week appt, so if anyone has any tips, please share!

Everyone - keep getting healthy!

Oh Chanvita - I'm so sorry! Hang in there kiddo! Did you ask them if they could change your pain medication to see if that's what is making you ill? Sometimes you are having a type of allergic reaction to some of your meds and that's what !makes you throw up. Praying for you!

Chanvita! So glad you are home - it's all uphill from here. I didn't have what I would call pains in my legs but I had like spasms that I figured were caused by those ding dang automated squeezers they had on my l was in the hospital. Had the worst case of restless leg syndrome for about 3 days but then it stopped. Went for my post op appt and got my staples removed today. Girl - I've lost 18 lbs since surgery! We are on our way!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
