cottage cheese, canned chicken, scrambled eggs (watch this one, some folks get sick, go for the whites). refried Beans, hummus, sugar free pudding, if you can mush it with a fork you can probably eat it fine.

I havent had the sleeve yet BUT I registered at the hosp yes2day & they gave me a packet. So for soft foods it says 2-4 oz of soft-cooked foods every 3-4 hrs such as: fish/seafood/eggs oe egg substitute, the packet from the doc says,Pimento cheese/cooked veggies/overcooked pasta/oatmeal/ground meats with gravy or broth/& low fat casseroles. I hope that helps. Im on the 7th day of my liquid diet & I would KILL 2 have some soft fish, I will almost take some raw fish at this point...lol

Also, canned fruits like peaches and pears. Refried Beans were my go to along with Protein spiked pudding!

I still remember my first bite of refried Beans, oh so good!

All these previous posts are helpful..I'll just add a couple extra thoughts I didn't see mentioned..canned chili of which there are many varieties..with a dollop of light sour cream..deviled ham and/or chicken..hard boiled egg salad chopped to oblivion with light mayo..cream of wheat..grits..

I am on week 3 and doing the soft foods. I get hungry right before bedtime. Does this happen to y'all? I just ate grits and I'm wondering if some of this is just head hunger:(

Yes, it happens to me. So I try to eat Breakfast and lunch a little later in the day and taking small shakes in between so that I can eat dinner and have a shake before bed if I really need to.

I get hungry all day a couple hours after eating..at night before bed the hunger is strong. I eat my gummy vitamins which help lol :-) a popsicle which is 25 calories or a wedge of laughing cow cheese at 35 calories. Someone on this site advised me that if you're hungry and you're gonna eat try to stick to Protein. Grits are carbs..you get hungry soon after eating it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
