I am almost 6 months out and 14 lbs from perfect goal and 19 lbs to my ... do not get to warning goal. I have a tendency to over do things and never be happy so I promised my family I would have a red number not to get to.

I definitely plan on getting the sleeve but I have to lose 10 percent of my weight. My body don't seem to want to let go of the last 7lb I need. My clothes are looser so inches are coming off but I need my weight to go down. I'm tempted to go on a liquid diet to get the 7lbs off just to get the ball rolling. By the 21st I'm going to be seeing the doctor one way or another.

I am 9 months post op (surgery 8-21-12). I lost a total of 85 lbs, including the 10 lbs pre op. I am 32 lbs from my own personal goal of 132 lbs, I am 5'5" and my weight before the pre op diet was 249 lbs. I am at the gym 5 days a week, 50 min cardio each day and 3 days I add 20 min strength training as well.

I should be getting my surgery date sometime this month--and most likely will be sleeved in July if all goes according to plan! In the meanwhile, I'm changing my eating habits by giving up junk food, fast food, sodas and coffee, and bringing Protein Shakes into my diet every day. So far it's brought me a 10-lb. loss while I work towards getting that surgery date--I'll take it! :)

Hi, Im post op since dec20.. so just past 5 mo. Ive lost 94lbs and have hit a stall.. but have had this journey that has been amazing and sad at the same time.. On the day of my surgery.. My son was shot and killed. I live in a different state than he did.. because of my last name not matching his.. they did not contact me until a week later.. which was when my hubby was getting out of the hospital from his sleeve surgery too. My daughter called him and he had to break the news to me that my pecious son was gone. I was 1 week post op. I had a really hard time with this.. I was afraid that the depression would send me into an eating binge. But my new surgery would not let me do this.. I had the best support anyone could have. If it was not for my hubby.. and here he was just out of the hospital.. I cannot thank him enough for always being there for me... our journey has been one of the best things in our lives.. we were very close before.. but now even closer if that is all possible.. he is a constant support for me when Im feeling like Im not doing very well.. he reminds me of where I was before. Both of my jobs have been very supportive of my surgery.. then after I lost all that weight.. poof low and behold some masses appeared on my legs.. I have a history of cancer..and possibly this could be also.. surgeon says.. out they must come.. so my hubby took me on a cruise first.. lol I lost 4lbs.. we went to the gym every morning and walked that ship a lot... when I came back.. I had the masses removed.. so now.. sporting 3 JP drains and 17 staples on each side of my thighs.. and out of work yet again... they must love me lol. right now im still off.. One drain left.. all 34 staples still in.. hopefully monday the last drain will come out and maybe the staples.. but all in all.. if it were not for the surgery I would not have found the masses.. I truely believe all things happen for a reason.. My sons death has brought me closer to the other kids.. we all miss him.. my mom passed away 5mo before his death.. so its been a rough few months.. but I have stayed on task and go to the gym for the last 3 mo. I cant do much now.. but I do walk and I do the wind jammer for my arms.. only cardio.. my surgery has set back my work out some.. I was to begin lifting wts.. but I have to wait now.. and I hit a stall. for the last 2 weeks.. but some I know if Fluid from the surgery and plus im not as active as I usually am.. so yes this has been quite a journey for the both of us.. he too has hit a stall.. nice of him to hang back with me LOL. But this has been the best thing ive ever done.. I know my son would be proud of me..as would be my parents if they were here.. and if It was not for this site.. so much advice.. so many things Ive learned from others experiences and I have even commented on a few posts.. hoping to give everyone that support they need. We are not perfect.. but what we have gained from this surgery is priceless.. the friends we have made here.. the joys.. the laughter.. the tears we have all suffered.. we all have but one goal.. we want to be normal.. we want to be healthly... for us and our loved ones.. so thank you for this website.. we have all gained so much being here... so best of luck to everyone here..and thank you for forming this wonderful sight.. God Bless Everyone.

I'm 2.5 months post op. I lost 25 pound from my highest weight.. then decided to have WLS. I lost 45 more pounds between the day I decided to have surgery and my actual surgery date and I've lost 31 pounds since my surgery for a total of 101 pounds. I'm nearly to my midpoint hoping to lose 109 more pounds to make it to my goal by my one year surgurversary.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
