CA712 111 Posted May 30, 2013 Hello WeeWers, I do get some remarks that I look like I have lost some weight but no too many so far. I guess I have to get rid of another 50 pounds before I am really noticed. My husband has not said too many things to me either. I am not sure what that is all about. He upports me by taking me to my doctor visits or to my local support group meetings but that is about all. He still wants to eat out a lot and this has been giving me some issues since there is not much for me to eat on most menu's. I really thought he would want to eat in more since my surgery but that is not the case. He does get mad at me when I tell him to go ahead and eat without me. I am 3 months out and have a long way to go so I am not sure what to do about him, he is not going to change at this stage of the game.

nursepez 152 Posted June 5, 2013 I'm 65 pounds down from my heaviest...so yes, I get a lot of comments...and compliments. It's actually been very nice...coming at the ripe old age of 60.
barbmeow 92 Posted September 24, 2013 I am 62 and really wish I had done this surgery when I was 24. Of course it was not available to us then, but I wish I hadn't spent so many years fighting this battle of the bulge and loosing. I am only a month out but I feel like this is the first time in my life that food has not ruled me. I think this is what normal thin people feel like. I have lost about 30 pounds from my highest weight after surgery, and I feel good. My Dr is a great guy who lets his pt's chew their food after 3 weeks, so I did not go nuts on liquids or soft foods, which many may find challenging. In answer to your question, yes people are noticing the weight loss, but I have to say, who cares if they do. This is all about me and my relationship to food. If I lose weight it is a good thing for me, not them. When I am back in a size 8, and compliments are flying it is due to my change of eating habits. Looking for validation from others is not what I want. I want a healthy view of food, and how I approach eating. Not meaning to be grouchy, but I do not want to rely on others for my motivation in any sense of the word.
