Well I have been told yet another time that I took the easy route to lose weight. One of my friends lot 48 pounds while I was in the hospital for 5 months and could not wait to show me how she worked at it herself and did not take the easy route like I did.

The a nurse tells me that I am not responsible for the weight I have lost because the hospital made sure I took the easy route

Yesterday a surgeon said that people who don't have surgery are better off because they earn the weight loss that the work hard for...the easy route is what I did.....

I have had enough of this statement...but do not know how to respond to this comment other then smacking them up side the head....

Any one have any idea !!!!

My favorite response to people when they're being asinine is almost always the same: I'm sorry you feel that way.

Nothing pisses people off more when you refuse to take their bait.

For everyone else: I don't want or need your approval. I decided to take control of my life. This is not a game or a contest.. there is no easy way or hard way.. there is no "cheating"... It's NOT A FREAKING GAME.. this is a battle, it's a war... there is success and failure.. I am taking this extra step to ensure that I'm a success and I win this battle of my life. If my choice upsets your delicate sensibilities, then go cry to someone who cares.

YEAH! High-five! :D

One if the MANY reasons I keep this decision to myself. I do not need to hear any negative what so ever in MY new lifestyle change, and life journey to health and happiness. It's MY life!

One year out I had plastics after losing my 110lbs (now more) in 6 months.... The one thing I did make sure of was, to get a Brazillian Butt Lift and augmentation to keep it plenty large so they could kiss my Ass

I don't know what's so easy about getting your stomach cut out. I've been forced to change my lifestyle and since obesity is 80% heredity per my surgeon, it was the only real choice I had left. I've decided to stay alive for my children. They don't need a mother who dies young. My surgery was the only choice and not the easiest.

Thank you so much for your comments.......they mean a lot to me.....seems that most are in agreement to slap them up side the head....if only I could..

The surgeon has shares in a weight loss clinic where we have termed the guy as the " diet Nazi" He puts people on a painful program that uses mental, and emotional abuse to force them to lose the weight......I have been humiliated enough through out my life because of my weight...I am not going to go and get it done on purpose.....

You are all right.....this is a life changing decision and I work on the mental and physical part every day.......

Your all wonderful..thanks!

Just another form of control. Haters are always gonna find a way to discriminate you...too fat, too thin, too dark, too light, too ugly, too pretty. Now the journey and the lesson that is to be learned is to love yourself despite what others think and say. Love yourself enough to not feel guilty about the new healthier yu. And show others you are doing just fine and living life with your sleeve. You don't have to justify it to no one. Haters hate to see you with your head held high and your face in the sun. Give it to "em!!

There has never been anything easy about this. If someone ever said that to me, they would either get my fist in thier face ( kidding) or an earful. I would verbally let them have it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
