megandearcos 0 Posted May 29, 2013 New to the vertical sleeve! My original plan was to go lap band but after having my consultation with the surgeon yesterday he recommended me to go with the sleeve due to complications. I'm really excited to get the ball rolling. I'm making my appt today to see the psych and the dietician any positive insights would be greatly appreciated! Eva Linder 47 Posted May 29, 2013 You won´t regret it. Life is so much easier with the sleeve. You can eat anything but in very small portions. The great thing is that you feel full and so you´re satisfied with what would just be an appatizer in the old days. So welcome to the sleevers lounge! 1 happyhippo reacted to this
Mrswynter22 38 Posted May 29, 2013 Hello my name is Tina, and I am new here also. I had my appointment with the surgeon and decided to do the sleeve. At first I wanted the band and reading all the complications that people was having and also the psych doctor also stated to go with the sleeve because he knew a doctor who had it done and changed to the sleeve. My paper work was submitted to the insurance company so just waiting for an approval
stacechase 251 Posted May 29, 2013 Welcome! I'm pretty new around here too, hoping to have my surgery in August. You'll find some great info around here!
megandearcos 0 Posted May 30, 2013 Thanks everyone! I have another question. Yesterday after I saw the surgeon I had to speak with the lady who handles all the paperwork. She told me that I needed a 3 month history from the PCP stating that I've tried dieting for 3 consecutive months. I asked doctor to write it but she only wrote it for 2 months. I may have to see my dr for 3 months in a row to talk about my weight and get documentation. But how do I go about seeing her just for my weight after I've seen the surgeon already? I'm confused
SeriouslyChange 319 Posted May 30, 2013 You can do both processes at the same time. Chances are, it will take you at least a month to get a date, so just keep in touch with you PCP and you'll be fine!
