I don't know why but I'm afraid that since Dr. Garcia is cheaper that maybe he's not really removing your stomach. That maybe he's only doing a little bit to make people think he did something. I cannot stop thinking this!

I mean what proof do we have that he actually removed part of our stomach? I mean I'm getting surgery by him in about a week but I'm terrified that maybe he don't do the entire surgery. I know crazy right but that's what I'm thinking right now of all things. That's why I keep trying to research how much weight people actually lost with him as their doctor.

Olivia, I think you can ask to see your removed stomach after the surgery. I've seen people post on here the pics of theirs. Just a thought, you could always ask your doctor...

There's no logical reason for any dr not to remove the right amt of stomach during surgery. I mean.. The dr has to preform all the exact steps as all the other drs so why would he take less than other drs? The surgery is all the same regardless .. so there's no reason for a dr not to remove the correct amount. Its not any less work or effort to take less of your stomach

So you think that because he is cheaper he is a not doing the job that you are paying him for?? Do this, ask him to take a picture of your stomach when it is removed. I didnt want to see mine, but one of the other ladies that had her surgery done on the same day requested hers and they did it.

I sure he took out a good portion of my stomach... I went from 216 to 117 in less than a year....and it wasnt because he left my stomach in tack. Please set aside those worries...you will do great...

and btw cheap doesnt always equate to fraudulent

He definitely took most of my stomach. My stomach don't hold much. When you meet him and the staff you will see what a caring dr he is. Go to his Facebook. He truly has a passion for what he does. You will see soon. Good luck

This could be true of any surgeon; how would you know that they performed any surgery that you went in for. Dr Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon and price has nothing to do with his skill. I am sure he could charge twice as much if he wanted too. Best wishes to the OP.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
