I have Lupus, and actually had a revision from Lap-Band to the Sleeve April 24th. The hardest part was being off of my anit-inflammatory pre-op but since I've been losing, honestly I feel so much better. Joints aren't as stiff, muscles don't ache all the time. Doc thinks the lap-band may have been contributing to my flares, body's response to the foreign body and all.

So far, so good :D

That is great to hear. I got off of my inflammatory meds when I was pregnant with my daughter who is 21 months and never got back on. I have a high pain tolerance I hadn't felt the need to start them back. Thank you so much for your response!

I have Lupus. I'm set to have the surgery in Mexico on July 2nd. It's really good to hear that you are doing so well, jlobyxmas! And please be sure to keep us posted, 02Bskinny! You're so close to your big day and I'm sending my best wishes that you sail right through this.

I'm lucky insofar as I don't have too much pain, but I do have a raging malar rash, and lots and lots of fatigue. I'm planning to stay extra days at the hotel just in case I'm too weak to travel, have a flare or get an infection. But ultimately, I really believe losing a hundred pounds can't help but make me feel a lot better, so I'm super-excited! :D

I don't have lupus but I have ms and fibro. I feel great. Down 65lbs in 3 1/2 months.

Biggest thing is make sure you take the Vitamins every day. B12 is a absolute must.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
