I am now 4 weeks out from sleeve. I want a big salad and was wondering how long I should wait before I eat lettuce? I would love nothing more than a nice chicken salad loaded with veggies. Also, how long did y'all wait to have raw veggies? Thanks for the feedback.

I started at 6 weeks without issues... though I can't eat a "HUGE" salad. It's mostly meat with just a little bit of greens and some diced veggies.... I mostly choose spinach for my salad because it gives me the most nutritional bang for my buck.

I had my first salad at 6 weeks, chopped up really fine. I have had one at least 3-4 times a week since. It used to be ice cream I craved so this is much better :)

Your doctor and dietician will let you know when you are ready but I think 4 weeks is too early.

I wonder what it is about salad? ?? I was craving Greek salad right about that time in my recovery. I am 3 months and still restricted in some raw veggies like carrots.

That is so weird. I'm craving a Greek salad from Panera bread. LOL... I have been wanting one for a while now.

My doctor says that a small salad a day is great for you, after you are 4-6 weeks out. I have had the topping from a salad, boiled eggs, grilled chicken cut really small, shredded cheese, tomatoes (no skins), cucumbers (no skins), and some faux ranch dressing*. My family put everything on spinach, but I was worried that would be a bit much for my new tummy. *Faux Ranch Dressing is a packet of ranch dressing mix, 16 oz of greek yogurt and 1.2 cup milk. the whole bottle is only about 150 calories, and had Protein in it too. Less milk and it's perfect ranch dip. :)
