I'm fighting it bad today. I think it's hormonal and the fact that its my birthday and I didn't reach my personal goal of being under 200 is what has me down. I took the day off of work to go do stuff with my hubby and all I really want to do is have a good cry and maybe wallow in my misery. Gonna try to fight it. Sucks when people don't understand why you feel the way you do. Rationally I know I will get to my goal but the emotional part is in the driver's seat today.

Happy Birthday!!! I promise you will be there pretty soon! It will happen! Dont fret! Easier said that done right? Be encouraged though that this will be your LAST birthday over 200!!!! When you do hit the 200 mark, it will just be another day to Celebrate. Enjoy your day with your hubby!

Happy birthday! just think of all the great things this year has in store for you ~ you will blow your way past the 200 mark (to the left!) And leave all those grumpy hormones behind, right? Meanwhile, just inwardly him a few bars of Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive" to get you through the humps! :-)

Happy Birthday! I know the feeling but have your cry, pull up your big girl panties, and realize this is a journey and we are not always going to be right on our desired time! You will get there!!! I like Susie in Lima's advice... realize this is the last birthday over 200! That made my day!! LOL! Don't waste time being sad because if you are like me you have wasted enough of your life not being able to live!! Be happy and enjoy the journey! :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
