What do you guys think about eating Trader Joes Kale chips.

I know you can bake them up and we have done this, but I specifically want your thoughts about this product and eating them as a light snack post op.

I just tried some and OMG, they are so good and definitely a slider.

Trader Joe's has some of the oddest, but fantastic foods.

Kale chips with sunflower seeds & Cashews on them...weird. ha!

(Sorry I have nothing useful to add..I'm still pre-sleeve). Nutrition wise I think they'd be great...but how does your sleeve do with nuts? Ever had any issues with sunflower seeds or Cashews? If not, I don't see why this wouldn't be a good healthy option.

Fiddleman,

I haven't tried them, I make my own. They look good!

I have never tried them, but for me, I could probably eat the whole bag in a sitting which would be 300 calories. I have made my own kale chips. A bit of work but super delicious!

They look like a nice treat food.. I make my own kale chips.. I'm looking to invest in a food dehydrator to see if I can get them a bit more crispy. when I cook them in a slow oven, the thin bits over cook before the thicker bits get crispy.

Yup, we grow Kale and make chips using our oven and a number of savory spices. My wife came home with these a couple days ago, so wanting to see if anyone has some experience with these.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
